No Spanish experience, or a few words of vocabulary.
For students who do not have any knowledge of the language or have a very limited vocabulary. At this level, students will be introduced to Spanish. They will be able to use simple sentences to communicate. They will learn basic grammar structure.
Students understand common and simple phrases, for example signs and brochures. They need the other person to repeat what they say to them or to say it in another words, in a lower speed.
Students can from simple questions and answers regarding habits, describe where they live and the people they know.
For students who have a limited grasp of Spanish grammar. They can use the present tense. Their vocabulary is somewhat more extensive. They will be introduced to the past tense. Students understand phrases and vocabulary related to personal or family information, work and home. They can understand the main idea of brief, clear and simple messages. They can read brief and simple text. Students can not understand enough to maintain a conversation.
For students who understand the two past tenses and the future. They will use most tenses in the indicative mood and the imperative.
Students are able to understand the main ideas in simple and clear situations in the school, work, hobbies, etc. They can also understand the main ideas of a TV or radio program when they are spoken clearly and relatively slowly. They can participate in a conversation about daily life, for example: work, trips, family, current events, etc. They can describe their experiences, dreams, hopes and ambitions. They can tell a story, explain a movie they have seen, or a book they have read. They can write simple text, and personal letters in which they can describe their personal experiences and impressions.
For students who already know most of the tenses in the indicative mood. They will learn the compound tenses and will be introduced to the subjunctive mood.
Students understand most TV and radio programs about current events. They are able to understand movies and lectures about common themes.
They can write clear and detailed text about different topics.
For students who know all the tenses in the indicative mood and have some knowledge of the present subjunctive. They will learn to use advanced forms of sentence structure and learn to use the present subjunctive correctly. Students understand long conversations without a lot of effort, even if they are not structured in a clear manner.
They understand long and complex texts even if they are not related to their interests. They can express themselves in a fluid and spontaneous way. Their descriptions are clear and well-structured about different topics. They can develop concrete ideas and finish their thoughts with an appropriate conclusion. They can write about complex themes in letters, articles, etc.
For students who have clear comprehension of the subjunctive mood. They will learn the past and compound tenses in the subjunctive.
Students do not have any difficulties understanding any conversations in real life, on TV or on the radio, even at a normal speed of speaking. They can easily read manuals, abstract texts, literature, etc. They can participate in conversations without any effort. They know idiomatic and colloquial expressions. If they have any problems, they don't impede the conversation. They can write summaries, letters and complex articles
A summary course, for students who do not need to learn more grammar but need to put into practice all that they know.
